JCILPS stir against migrants in Manipur

IMHAL, March 19: The Joint Committee on Inner Line Permit System had launched a non cooperation movement against the non-Manipuri staying in the state. It became effective from midnight last night. A press release issued by the JCILPS said that spacerooms shall not be let to the non-Manipuris. People will  refrain from buying things from the shops owned by these outsiders. Further the people will stop eatng in the hotels and eateries of these non-Manipuris. People will not sell anything to the outsiders. The non Manipuri hawkers shall not be allowed to freely roam the localities. These decisions were taken in a meeting of the JCILPS and other civil organisations. The meeting was of the view that the Manipur Regulation of Visitors, Tents and Migrant Workers Bill 2015 was passed by the Assembly against the wishes of the people. It is intended to promote the non-Manipur. The meeting had underlined the imeprative need to stop the governor from giving assent to it.  It had also condemned the chief minister for not incorporating the recommendations of the JCILPS in this regard. Meanwhle many other organisations have extended support to the campaign launched by the JCILPS.
