jma Heptulla scoffs at Congress claims of development in State

From a Correspondent

GAON, January 28: “The 15 years of development and progress in Assam was proved when the meeting which was fixed earlier at Laharighat in Morigaon district was cancelled due to the poor road condition from Morigaon town to Laharighat. In fact, there is no road but a footpath which is not meant for plying of vehicles,” said Union Minister for Minority Affairs, Dr jma Heptulla on Thursday evening while addressing a press conference held at gaon Circuit House.

She slammed Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi and the Congress-led government in the State. She said that she had written letters consecutively to Chief minister Tarun Gogoi every 15 days and asked him to submit the reports of development and the UC report of the funds that were sent to the State by the Union Ministry, but Gogoi had not  responded to the letters till date.

“Rather he criticized the Central Government for not sending funds over the months,” Dr Heptulla said. On the other hand, she criticized AIUDF chief Badaruddin Ajmal for his recent remark urging all Muslims of the State to unite against the Hindus.

“ Prime Minister Modi is a secular leader and he is trying to bring equal and adequate progress and development irrespective of religion, caste or tribe in the country,” she added.
