JMS felicitates meritorious  students, professionals

ITANAGAR, July 8: The Jering Matkir Society (JMS) today felicitated students from its clan who have excelled in the last CBSE and other entrance examinations, and other achievers during a felicitation programme held in a city-based hotel here.

Altogether seven class 10th students with more than 70 percent marks and four class 12th students with more than 75 percent marks were felicitated during the event. The society also felicitated one Gumin Mize (IIT Kerela), Angki Pajing (IIT Tirupati), and Tayor Darang (AIIMS) for clearing the JEE advance entrance examination. All the students received trophies, citation and cash awards.

The JM Society also felicitated Neki Mize and Anjipu Darang for getting selected to represent the country in the upcoming International Youth Soccer Championship (Dana Cup) at Denmark. Furthermore, the society also felicitated Dr Manju Darang, who is the first lady super specialist in plastic surgery from the state.

JMS president Tapur Ketan and JMS Itanagar unit president Tarik Mize in their deliberation lauded the achievers and encouraged them to excel in their respective examinations in future also.

Earlier, the society also observed a two-minute silence as a mark of respect for the departed soul of former East Siang district deputy commissioner late Tayon Darang who passed away on July 4. The society remembered late Darang as a prominent figure of the JMS clan in particular and of Adi community in general who contributed a lot for the development of the Adi community as a whole.
