Jogot Jyoti Rajkumar to participate in Asia Pacific Masters Games

Silchar: Veteran badminton player Jogot Jyoti Rajkumar of Silchar will take part in Asia Pacific Masters Games in Malaysia from September 7.

Barak Upatyaka Krira Sangbadik Songstha (BUKSS) organized a ‘meet the press’ with him to know about his preparation on Monday. The ‘meet the press’ was conducted by BUKSS treasurer Dwijendralal Das. Jogot Jyoti informed that he would take part in 40-45 year’s age category of badminton (both singles and doubles). For make his outing a memorable one, he is in continuous practice at the India Club Indoor Stadium.

In the initial stage, Rajkumar was in tension to manage his registration fees for the games. The registration fee is Rs 84000. His community members, MLAs Rajdeep Goala and Krishnendu Paul and some other well wishers have helped him financially. At present, Rajkumar is busy with his last moment practice and fully focused for a better show in Malaysia. Among others present at the ‘meet the press’ programme included general secretary Taz Uddin, spokesman Sayan Biswas, and assistant general secretary Kinkar Das, of BUKSS.
