GUWAHATI, May 6: The All Assam Police Association (AAPA) in a release shared to the media on Sunday expressed solidarity and shared the burden of losing their former colleague and OC of Bordumsa PS late Bhaskar Kalita with the bereaved family members. The AAPA general secretary Taheruddin Ahmed revealed that over the last three decades, the department has lost more than 1000 abled and daring personnel of various ranks who have sacrificed their valuable lives for the safety and security of the State. “The consequence of such tragic ends is perpetually suffered by the family members and relatives of the deceased”, the release said. The release further said that the recent misfortune has caused irreparable loss to the department. The Association appealed to the State government to initiate necessary action to avert such fatality. Moreover, they also heartily urged the underground outfits to return to the mainstream to build a terror-free state. Meanwhile, they also demanded the State government to raise the ex gratia from Rs 20 lakh to Rs 60 lakh and  to materialize it within a month.
