Joint Exercise of Army And NDRF In Flood-Relief Operation

MANGALDAI: In view of the possibility of flood problem on the onset of the monsoon and to prepare for the flood relief operations, the Army unit of Red Horns Division, in coordination with the NDRF and other disaster management agencies, has taken up a joint initiative for imparting training and rehearsal on the mighty River Brahmaputra at Amingaon in Kamrup (rural) district.

On the concluding day of the training and rehearsal on Saturday, the participants displayed the demonstration of honed skills witnessed by a good number of military and civil officials. The joint exercise provided an ideal platform to understand the capabilities and foster bonhomie and synergy between the participating personnel of the agencies which will be deployed for the smooth management of the flood relief operations.

Commander of Invictus Brigade, Brigadier Gaurav Rishi, while taking part in the closing function, exhorted all participants to understand the delicate nature of such operations and necessity to work as a coherent team. He also acknowledged the efforts of the NDRF team in demonstrating their equipment and capabilities.
