Joint platform of trade unions protest

Bongaigaon, April 12: Protesting against the practice of outsourcing, a joint platform of several organizations, including North East Frontier Railway Mazdoor Union, AIREC, Purvottar Rail Karmi Parishad, NF Railway OBC Employees’ Association and NF Railway Employees’ Union staged a demonstration on Thursday in New Bongaigaon Workshop gate.

Phanidhar Das, assistant general secretary of NFRMU, said that the chief workshop mager of New Bongaigaon Workshop was always outsourcing work.

“This is a bread-earning organization for Railway employees and Railway employees are capable to perform such duties. We will never tolerate work being outsourced and will adopt the path of agitation,” he said. In this regard they submitted a memorandum to the General Mager of NF Railway through CWM New Bongaigaon.
