Jokai Botanical Garden ready for public

Dibrugarh, May 3: The Jokai Botanical Garden (JBG) will be thrown open for tourists and public once again on May 4 amidst much excitement here. People are looking forward to the inauguration, for the garden, as per the official claims, can draw tourists from far-flung areas and accordingly increase the avenues of income for the locals. The long-standing efforts of the Dibrugarh administration towards bringing the park into being must be acknowledged, said some local youth. Most of them believe that JBG will be able to deliver on the expectations, thereby earning brownie points for the town. They, at the same time, are jubilant over the fact that a potential asset that was lying in a dormant stage for years, has been given a new lease of life and a fine overhaul. The opening ceremony will be graced by many dignitaries, including MP Rameshwar Teli and MLAs Chakradhar Gogoi and Rituparna Baruah.
