Jorhat couple dies in Lucknow-Agra Highway road mishap

JORHAT, APRIL 16: A couple and their driver died in a tragic road accident when their speeding Honda City vehicle ramped into the back of a statiory truck on the busy Lucknow-Agra Express Highway on Saturday at around 1 pm, informed family sources here on Sunday.

The couple has been identified as hid Haye (37) and Gitanjali Haye (30). Both were serving as lawyers in the Supreme Court of India and were residents of Dwarika Atulya Apartment-sector 18 B in flat no. 303, New Delhi. Both were on the way to Lucknow from New Delhi to attend a marriage ceremony when the accident took place, near Jahidpur Gaon area under Kasimpur Police Station, in Hordoi district of Uttar Pradesh. The driver and hid died on the spot while Gitanjali succumbed to her injuries on the way to Lucknow Trauma Centre.

The young couple origilly hailed from Old Circuit House Road, Jorhat. The deceased were the son and daughter-in-law of Col. (retd) Mukid Haye and Tami Haye, the present Principal of Army Public School, Jorhat. The bodies will be brought to their ancestral home in Jorhat on Sunday evening where last respects and floral tribute will be paid by the staff, students, officials of Jorhat Military Station, including the GOC Rajiv Mishra, Rupa Mishra, president of Army Wives’ Welfare Association of Jorhat Military Station, along with their relatives and friends.

Their jaja will be performed at the Jorhat Kabarstan at 10.30 am on Monday, informed family members.
