Jourlists attacked, camera stched

GAON, November 11: Three jourlists were allegedly attacked by some miscreants on Tuesday night at Lumding when all of them were shooting gambling taking place in the alleys of Lumding. The miscreants, who may be organizers of those gambling activities, allegedly assaulted jourlists Rintu Ranjan Keot, Bapi Malakar and Kartik Paul and stched away their camera and later destroyed it.

Gambling was taking place in several places of Lumding on the occasion of Diwali. Lakh of rupees were being beted.

The jourlists went at those places and took shots at night. When they were busy shooting, some miscreants suddenly attacked them and stch away the camera. The three jourlists ran away from the place.

The jourlists lodged an FIR at Lumding police station but so far no one has been arrested. The president and secretary of Assam Working Jourlist Union, Akhil Chandra Das and Mizo Bora respectively have condemned the incident and asked police to b the culprits without delay.
