Junbeel Mela begins

Morigaon, January 23: Like every year, people from the plains and hills today began two days of traditiol trading through the barter system at the historic Junbeel Pathar. The day started with a community fishing. The tribes, who descended from the hills, exchanged their goods with their peers from the plains at Junbeel Pathar. In the barter system, the Karbi, Garo and Khasi tribes exchanged their traditiol non–vegetarian items with baked cakes of the Tiwa and Bodo tribes.  The fair, which started yesterday, will conclude tomorrow.
