JYF leader brutally killed

SHILLONG, March 20: In a brutal killing one Poipynhun Majaw who is also the president of the Jaintia Youth Federation (JYF), was on Monday night murdered by unknown miscreants.

According to sources, the victim was hit from behind his head with a metallic object.

Meanwhile, the police informed that the youth leader was last seen at around 3 PM talking to an unknown biker.

However the body of the slain youth leader was later recovered from a place called Umsyllih near the dumping ground of Khliehriat Town Committee office about two kilometers away from the DC office on Khliehriat Rymbai Road.

The CSWO president and RTI activist Agnes Kharshiing has strongly condemned this incident and said, “We strongly condemn his killing and demand immediate arrests of those responsible.” Majaw had recently filed an RTI and exposed a scam in JHADC and also found out that Cement Companies in Jaintia Hills were mining without the permission of JHADC .
