Biswanath Chariali: Jyoti Prasad Agarwalla's make shift studio 'Chitralekha Movietone' where he had made the first Assamese feature film 'Joymati' at Bholaguri Tea Estate under Gohpur sub-division in Biswanath district in 1935, became the theme of a 'bhelaghar' this time in Barani Pathar village, Gohpur. With the Magh Bihu round the corner, the villagers of Barani Pathar are working round the clock these days to give a reality to their dream house with thatch and bamboo.

It will have the replicas of Joymati, Chaudang, Jerenga Pathar, Usha, Chitralekha, cameras and other things inside the house. Usually, the 'bhelaghar' is burnt to ashes at dawn on the day of Magh Bihu, but going against the tradition, this will not happen to this particular house. The organization proposes to observe 'Shilpi Divas' on January 17 in this 'Chitralekha'. The purpose of making the 'bhelaghar' is to remind the government to do something to make permanence the memory of Jyoti Prasad at Gohpur, the organizers informed.
