KAD launches cleanliness drive at Kokrajhar

KOKRAJHAR, August 14:  The Kokrajhar Development Authority (KDA) and Banjaigra Cooperative Society today launched  a cleanliness drive in Kokrajhar town. The cleanliness drive by KDA and Banjaigra Cooperative Society started from two different points in the town.

The KDA, as part of Swachh Bharat programme started the cleaning of town from Don Bosco Tiniali. The programme was also took part by ex-president of Bodo Sahitya Sabha (BSS) Brajendra Kr. Brahma, Chairman of Kokrajhar Development Authority DD rzary, chairman of Kokrajhar Municipal Board (KMB) Bishnu rzary, Kokrajhar District Kalyan Ashram, leading citizens and local people.

Ex- president of BSS Brajendra Kr. Brahma said the Swachh Bharat Abhijan was  important for all and one must realize that simply cleaning the roads and places do not signify the meaning of Swachh but everybody should clean their heart and soul too for the humanity.

KDA chairman DD rzary said the authority has decided to organize the similar programme in every ward and village on regular intervals.

Meanwhile, the DC, Kokrajhar MP Sharma iugurated another cleanliness drive by Banjaigra cooperative society at UN Brahma Bus Stand. He started the cleaning of road along with the women members of the society and general secretary of Dularai Boro Harimu Afat (DBHA) Jogeswar Brahma.
