KALAIGAON, March 17: Rangalal Sinha, senior BDO of Kalaigaon Development Block, was sent to Udalguri Jail on Tuesday by Kalaigaon Police. He was arrested on Friday on charges of corruption.
Gupith Saikia, an accountant of this block, has also been sent to jail for the same charges. They were remanded to police custody for three days. Several organizations of Kalaigaon like AJYCP and AAKRSU had complained against them that they had allegedly misappropriated a huge amount of government fund from IAY scheme. So the BDO, along with accountant, was arrested under sections 406/409/420-34 IPC.
