Kambu village declared ODF

Itagar, Nov 30: Kambu, one of the remotest villages of the West Siang district that remained cut off from rest of the world through ages, has filly something to cheer about – it was declared an Open Defecation Free (ODF) village on Tuesday. A small programme to celebrate the achievement was held in the village on the day during which Kirba Sora, PHE EE, disclosed that West Siang is the second district of the State to be declared as an ODF district on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti this year, and the same was possible only due to the zeal and cooperation of the people. Sora, on the occasion, also assured to look into the water supply issue of the village. Among others present on the occasion were, Yomcha PHE AE, O Yirang and Consultant R Taba. Meanwhile, West Siang deputy commissioner Swetika Sachan iugurated a new boy’s hostel and office of the SFS School here on Sunday.
