Kamrup (M) DC Virendra Mittal Instructions for New Year Celebrations

GUWAHATI: Kamrup (M) District Commissioner, Virendra Mittal has issued instructions for smooth and happy celebration on December 31.

The order instructed that four teams of excise personnel headed by responsible officers will conduct patrolling and inspection of license premises. Consumption of liquor in public places is strictly prohibited, violation will lead to a penalty of Rs 5000 as per excise rules. Licensees of IMFL OFF/ON shops will have to strictly adhere to rules and regulations under excise acts. Temporary Bar license may be obtained from Competent Authority by desiring organizers. Also, licencees will have to arrange sufficient light in license premises with functioning CCTV Cameras. No liquor can be served to an already drunk person. Licencees will also have to arrange for sufficient number of security guards including female bouncers. They will need to take all preventable measures to avoid misconduct. Parties in bars and hotels are instructed to be concluded by 12.30 am and ensure that playing of sound systems should not disturb the neighbourhood.

Virendra Mittal has urged everyone to follow the regulations strictly failing which may lead to serious consequences.
