Karbak calls for documentation  of cultural heritage

Itagar, April 9: Aruchal Pradesh Parliamentary Secretary for Sports and Youth Affairs Nyamar Karbak, while gracing the Mopin festival at Aalo in West Siang district, said the festivals always showcase the rich age-old culture and also give a distinct identity and every member of the society irrespective of religious affiliations should take pride to celebrate it.
The age-old culture needs proper documentation and preservation for future generations, Karbak said, adding that the festival should serve as a platform to bring oneness, mutual trust, goodwill and understanding among various communities.
District Land Record and Settlement officer (DLRSO) Takam Titus, who was the guest of honour, said the festival which is celebrated in many moods is reaching new heights every year due to the effort put together by the organizing committee and exhorted the young generation to keep interest in their own culture.
Central Mopin Celebration Committee president Doli Lollen and secretary Gemar Padu gave detailed deliberations on the history and mythological aspects of the Mopin festival. 
The festival was also celebrated at Siang Sadan, the official residence of West Siang Deputy Commissioner Swetika Sachan. Members of the Central Mopin Festival Celebration Committee, Popir parties and heads of the departments also took part in the celebration, the release added.
