Karbi Anglong administration notifies election rules

HOWRAGHAT, March 11: The Deputy Commissioner of Karbi Anglong has notified that nomition papers by candidates can be submitted for the forthcoming assembly polls in 18-Howraghat (ST) LAC and 19-Diphu (ST) LACs to Vahihal Doungel, Assistant Returning Officer for 18-Howraghat (ST) LAC and  Dr Monika, Borah, Assistant Returning Officer for 19-Diphu (ST) LAC at the Returning Officer’s office of the Deputy Commissioner between 11 am and 3 pm on any day (other than public holiday) but not later than March 18.

The nomition forms can also be obtained from the Deputy Commissioner’s office and it will be taken up for scrutiny at 11 am on March 19 for both the LACs. But the place of nomition paper scrutiny for 18-Howraghat (ST) LAC will be at the Krishi Bhavan Conference Hall (1st Floor) and for 19-Diphu (ST) LAC will be at the Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Hall, Diphu respectively, an official press release stated.

Nomition can be withdrawn before 3 pm on March 21. Polling will take place on April 4.
