Karbi Anglong Police crack murder case, one arrested

Hamren, April 18: Dunun Naiding (46), son of Pharion Naiding, was killed by an assailant on April 16. He was fired at from a close range at his house at Tamulbari near Langsoliet under Borlangpher Police Station. The incident happened when Dunun was sitting in his kitchen after taking dinner. Dunun succumbed to his injuries on the way to the hospital. The bullet directly hit him on the left side of his chest and caused severe injury to the heart.
 Karbi Anglong Police cracked the case very soon. The incident was investigated and police zeroed on Bijan Kemprai, husband of the youngest sister of the deceased. On further investigation, police found that there was intense rivalry between Bijan Kemprai and Dunan Naiding. The rivalry was due to sharing of profit in works related of MGNREGA job cards and construction of IAY houses.
 Police have registered Borlangfer Police Station case no. 18/2018 under Sec 302 IPC and 27(1) Arms Act and Bijan Kemprai was arrested within few hours of the incident and during interrogation the accused confessed his guilt and narrated the chain of events that preceded and succeeded the killing of Dunun.
