Karbi council chief, members felicitated

HAMREN, July 12: Leaders of various social organizations of Karbi Anglong like All India Karbi Students’ Union (AIKSU) president Enush Timung, Karbi Students’ Association (KSA) president Bijoy Bey, Hill Tribal League (HTL) conveners Khorsing Teron and Saising Rongpi, Karbi Longri and North Cachar Hill Liberation Front (KLNLF) chairman P Dilli, Karbi Students’ and Youth Council (KSYC) president Rajendra Kramsa, Karbi Farmers’ Association (KFA) president Samsing Hanse and Rajesh Tisso, People For People (PFP) spokeperson Petterson Ronphar, and others jointly felicitated KAAC CEM Tuliram Ronghang and all MACs at the KAAC conference hall recently.

A memorandum was also handed to the KAAC authority on the long-pending issue of autonomous state. The organizations demanded immediate implementation of Article 244 (A) of the Constitution of India, which was the poll promise of the BJP. The organizations also demanded immediate cancellation of allotment of land of Havarpi Tourist Complex to Bengaluru based NGO Vikyati Vikash Kendra India (VVKI) and demanded that instead the land should be allotted to the Karbi Lamet Amei (KLA) to build a building for the development Karbis and all tribal languages and literature. The CEM assured the organization leaders that the council would take immediate steps for cancellation of the land allotment and the implementation of Autonomous State as per Article 244 (A) of the Constitution of India would be discussed with both the Central and State leaders of the BJP.
