SIVASAGAR, Nov 6: The Sivasagar Anchalik Karmachari Parishad observed the Karmachari Swahid Divas in memory of those members who laid their lives during the Assam Agitation. The function was held under the aegis of Sivasagar Anchalik Karmachari Parishad at its office premises. On November 1, 1980, Sadou Asom Karmachari Parishad member Dilip Chakravorty was shot dead by the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel while he was taking part in a ‘Dispur chalo’ march. Chakravorty was the first martyr among the State Government employees during the Assam Agitation.
