Karmveer Award to Late Dorjee Khandu

Itagar, April 11: Aruchal Pradesh Literary Society will confer Karmveer Award on former chief minister Dorjee Khandu in recognition of his invaluable contributions to the state and its people to earn the Honorius of ‘Laughing Buddha’, coinciding with its 9th foundation day on April 12 next. Chief Minister bam Tuki, who has consented to be the chief guest, will give away the honour to late Khandu’s eldest son and Tourism Minister Pema Khandu at a function at Jawaharlal Nehru State Museum here. State’s noted literary persolities Oshang Ering, Takhe Kani and Sherphow Nimachow will be felicitated on the occasion followed by Rainbow, Kavisammelan that would see young and old poets to prove their creative skill and hold discussion over literature. APLS president and Sahitya Academy awardee Y D Thongchi, instrumental in forming the society, has been serving as a platform to promote budding talents of the state and creative writers.
