Kaso calls for Assam-Aruchal goodwill

Itagar, May  3: Aruchal Pradesh Parliamentary Secretary for Urban Development, Techi Kaso has called upon the Assamese community residing in the state not only to preserve their tradition but also to promote it as a part of cultural tourism for the state.

Gracing the two-day Kristi Kendra Rangali Bihu Sanmilan festival which was celebrated in a rich comportment at the art and culture ground here Saturday, Kaso said that celebration of festival was the sole way to protect one’s tradition and culture.

Citing Nyokum, Solung and Mopin festivals, Kaso said, “If festivals are linked with tourism, it will be highly beneficial for every state as it will attract many visitors from other’s state too.”

While anticipating maintence of the cordial relation amongst the people of Assam and Aruchal, Kaso urged all present to keep the long and peaceful environment of the two states alive and share each other’s experience through art and culture.

He also exhorted the youths especially to preserve, promote and protect the rich culture and identity of one’s tribe and to channelize the positive spirit of youth for better development of the people and state as a whole.

Terming Assamese citizens as one of the most hardworking people, Kaso said, “We are brothers and sisters there should be no discrimition in the me of tribe and religion.” While appreciating the contribution of the Assamese people towards the state by their services in government offices and other sectors, Kaso joined in for the Bihu dance which was eagerly awaited by the organizing committee. Various competitions like literary, quiz and drawing besides cultural nites to be performed by renowned artists from Assam are the highlights of the two day celebration.
