Kavi Samaj organizes multilingual poets’ meet

UDALGURI, Jan 1: The Udalguri Kavi Samaj organized a multilingual poets’ meet at Bishnu Sarma Neupane’s residence to mark the New Year celebration. The programme was iugurated by Govardhan Prasad Chouhan by lighting a lamp. Bishnu Sarma Neupane delivered a speech welcoming all the poets. Tulika Talukdar presented the opening song. Gautam Jyoti Talukdar, the president of Udalguri Kavi Samaj, presided over the poetic session while it was conducted by Lajpat Chauhan, the general secretary of Kavi Samaj.
 Baidyath Upadhyaya reviewed the read out poems. Haribhakta Sarma  read out a self-composed Bodo poem, Ranju Das and Lajpat Chauhan read Nepali poems. Altogether 28 poets read out their self-composed poems. Tarapati Upadhyaya, literary pensioner and Sahitya Akademi award winning writer, and Bidyapati Dahal, Sanskrit scholar, attended the session.
