JORHAT, June 26: in view of the ensuing flood and to save the animals and reduce man-animal conflict within the Kaziranga National Park area under Bokakhat Revenue Circle in Golaghat district, the district administration promulgated Section 144 on NH-37 starting from Jokholabondha to Numaligarh all along the NH-37 and NH-39 till Numaligarh township area, informed Vinek Shyam, the subdivisional officer of Bokakhat on Tuesday. The section has been imposed due to the ensuing monsoon season which is about to witness the second wave and the animals might move out of the park towards the Karbi Anglong side and towards the NH-37. So to reduce speed of the vehicles on the NH-37 and NH-39, section 144 has been imposed. The speed limit of vehicles should be 30 km/hour and no one can carry arms and ammunition in the mentioned park areas, except forest and security personnel. If anyone is found carrying arms, he will be fined and punished as per Wildlife Act, said district administration sources.
