KHADC proposes vote on account amounting to over Rs 76,73,50,820

SHILLONG, Feb 20: The Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) has proposed a vote on account amounting to Rs 76,73,50,820 for various departments of the Council.

Tabling the budget, KHADC CEM P.N. Syiem said the proposed expenditure budget is to secure vote on account for the months of April-June and to allocate funds set aside as salaries for members of the Executive Committee and the staff, office of the Chairman, Judicial Officers and other employees of the Council’s court and other developmental works of the Council.

The list of allocations to departments includes General Administrative, Law, Revenue Budget & Fince, Enforcement and Scheme for Protection of Tribal Land & Interest, Education, Civil Works and Development Departments among others. The vote on account is for the period April 1-June 30 for the year 2017-18.

Syiem mentioned that the Executive Committee was uble to come up with a full budget for the year 2017-18 because the revenue and expenditure details of 2016-17 will only be received till the last week of March 2017.

He further informed that the Council has received Rs. 123,45,32,000 from the Rs. 133.12 crores Special Assistance of Central Plan scheme 2015-16.
