KHADC to set up market complex in Shillong

FROM A REPORTER
SHILLONG, June 20: KHADC chief P N Syiem today revealed that the Council has planned to set up a market complex in the city.  Syiem said this while replying to a question raised by HSPDP, MDC T S Thangkhiew on the first day of the summer session of the council.  “We have intended to set up a market complex at Urban Shillong with a target to generate at least Rs. 50 to 60 lakhs revenue per year from the market. The proposal is under examition of the Executive Committee,” Syiem said.  “To set up this market in Shillong, we will have to tie up with someone and even if it is implemented on 60-40 percent basis on the revenue ratio it will still help the Council to generate revenue,” he said.
