From our correspondent

Itagar, Feb 11: Aruchal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu has taken serious exception to the utter lack of efficiency in traffic magement in the twin capital cities of Itagar and harlagun and directed the capital administration to immediately draw out an air-tight plan to ease traffic flow.

The Chief Minister, who himself was held in traffic srl on Saturday, expressed displeasure on the hardships faced by commuters.

Khandu squarely blamed the inefficiency and lack of magement abilities of the authorities concerned besides insufficient dissemition of information on the new route plans to the commuters, an official communiqué stated.

Khandu said the commuters have to be properly informed through accessible and understandable modes of communication on route diversions, U-turns, no parking zones, one way routes, etc., before implementing it on ground to avoid chaos.

Taking up the matter with the Capital DC and SP on Sunday, the Chief Minister said the authorities cannot give lame excuses when citizens of the capital complex bear the brunt of their inefficiency.

Khandu, however, maintained that commuters will have to bear the hardships of congestion to some extent till completion of the ongoing 4-lane highway, which is also one of the factors for traffic jams.

He appealed to the citizens to obey traffic rules, be disciplined while driving and to take first hand information about the traffic plan in place before venturing out on the road.
