Khumtai constituency people reconstruct rural road

Golaghat, February 8:  As the days for the assembly election are drawing closer, the ruling Congress is harping on good governce and all-round development in the State in the last 15 years. But yet there are places in the State which paint a poor picture of development.

On Monday, a large number of people of  Khumtai constituency in Golaghat district came out and began reconstruction  of a rural road with their own money. The Sonkola Tiniali - Machkhowachuk connecting rural road was in a deplorable condition. After repeated appeals to the authorities concerned and local MLA, the people did not get any positive response.

Filly they decided to construct and repair the road with their money. The local people even arranged dumpers and JCB in construction work with their own expenses. They criticized the role of their elected representative Bismita Gogoi and made a remarkable statement that they were now in search of an altertive candidate for the upcoming assembly elections .
