According to him, the students were only demanding that the government should upgrade the educatiol institution especially since it’s the only government college in the region catering to the people of Jaintia Hills.

He said that the Deputy Chief Minister in-charge Education RC Laloo should have taken the issues of the students more seriously.

“We will support the students and we want them to keep on demanding from the State government until all their demands are met,” he said.

Stating that even the teachers are restricted from hitting the students, he said, “We the teachers have been restricted from hitting a student but now it’s very shocking to see the government using such force against the students.”

The KJDSTA has also urged the state government to restraint from using brute force in the future when it comes to dealing with the student’s community.
