KJNU, MPUF demand removal of check gates

SHILLONG, Aug 30: After receiving several complaints from truck drivers about the illegal collection of money by Dolloi in Jaintia Hills, the Khasi Jaintia tiol Union (KJNU) and Meghalaya People United Front (MPUF) met the CEM, JHADC on Monday. The CEM, however, told the NGOs that he never give any such permission to the Dolloi to collect money from trucks and in this regards.   The NGOs also met the Deputy Commissioner, West Jaintia Hills and submitted a memorandum to do away with all the illegal check gates set-up by the Dolloi.
