KKR spinner rine cleared to bowl in IPL

Mumbai, April 5: Kolkata Knight Riders’ star spinner Sunil rine will play in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2015 after the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) sub-committee dealing with suspect bowling actions gave him a clean chit on Sunday.

According to a BCCI release, the bowling review committee comprising S. Venkatraghavan, Javagal Srith and A.V. Jayaprakash examined the bowling action of the West Indies spinner after he had undergone a biomechanical assessment.

“I am happy that we will witness Sunil rine in action in the IPL 2015, since he is now cleared by the BCCI committee,” BCCI Secretary Anurag Thakur said.

“We look forward to the opening match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Mumbai Indians on April 8 in Kolkata, which promises to provide an exciting start to the tourment,” Thakur said.

rine gave a test at the Intertiol Cricket Council (ICC)-accredited Sri Ramachandra Medical Centre (SRMC) in Cheni.

The committee concluded that rine, who had remodelled his bowling action, was within the ICC approved limits for all types of deliveries that were assessed.

After this the committee recommended to the BCCI that his me may be removed from the warning list of bowlers with suspect action.

As a result, the 26-year-old spinner is now allowed to bowl in all BCCI tourments. IANS
