KMSS activists gherao PHE office

MORIGAON, Oct 16: The activists of Krishhak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS), Morigaon unit gheraoed the Public Health Engineering (PHE) office in Morigaon on Friday. The organization demanded that the executive engineer should look into the alleged  misappropriation of allotted funds under Amoi scheme in the department. The organization alleged large-scale misappropriation of funds in the me of distribution of individual household latrines and potable water. KMSS alleged that beneficiaries had been deprived of getting the individual household latrines due to anomalies.  Under the leadership of Badan Sarma, president of KMSS Morigaon unit, along with the vice-president of KMSS, the activists staged a three-hour protest in the office.
