KMSS demands unconditiol release of Akhil Gogoi

Dibrugarh, Dec 23: Hundreds of activists of Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) staged a protest on Saturday in front of the Dibrugarh Sadar Police Station demanding unconditiol release of peasant leader Akhil Gogoi.
The supporters who came from various parts of the State to Dibrugarh anticipating the release of their leader on Saturday, were left disappointment upon knowing that Gogoi had been taken to Goalpara on charges of tampering with the me of a school med after Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay. Advisor of KMSS, Losan Shyam Gohain, told The Sentinel that the activists were ill-treated by the police force, causing severe bleeding to one of them. He, on behalf of KMSS, demanded appropriate treatment for the victim, and also asked the government to acquit Gogoi of all the false charges imposed on him.
