KMSS's political party to contest in 2016 Assembly polls

SIVASAGAR, March 18:  Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) president Akhil Gogoi on Wednesday publicly announced the launch a new political party in the State through his peasant organization. The new political party of KMSS will be dedicated to farmers, labourers and middle-class and it will make its presence felt in the 2016 Assembly polls.

Gogoi made this announcement, while delivering his iugural speech at the 4thBiennial Conference at Dichaw Batua playground at Diroi Rangoli in Sivasagar district. He, however, did not make public the me of the party.

“With the coming of our party, we will start a new struggle for the basic rights of the common people. We need the party to stch power from BJP, Congress, AGP and AIUDF,” said the peasant leader.

Gogoi further said, “Our politics will be actual politics, to bring change in our economic system and for social uplift so that every farmer gets ownership of land and we will carry forward this fight till our last breath.” Veteran Gandhian leader An Hazare will attend the conference on March 20.
