Kokrajhar bag title of Archery C'ship

KOKRAJHAR, Feb 1: The host district Kokrajhar bags the title of 11th All Assam Junior Inter- District Archery Championship, 2015 which was concluded today at Kokrajahr District Sports Association (KDSA) playground by wining maximum number of gold medals. Around 100 participants from fifteen districts of Assam participated in the championship.

In the Indian round, recurve and Olympic round of both boys and girls, Kokrajhar bagged 9 golds, 5 silvers and a bronze totally the tally at 15 medals followed by Bhergaon with 2 golds, 5 silver and 2 bronze. Gossaigaon won 1gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze while Sivasagar got 2silver and 3 bronze. Goalpara bags only 3 bronze while the North Frontier Railway got 1gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze. Dibrugargh won only 2 bronze while Udalguri got 1 gold and 1 bronze.

BTC EM Rajiv Kr. Brahma ceremonially gave away the medal and certificate to the winners on the occasion of prize distribution ceremony. The prize distribution programme was also attended by the vice president of the Assam Archery Association (AAA) Ajya Kr. Basumatary and vice president of Kokrajhar District Sports Association (KDSA). The Deputy Chief of BTC Kampa Borgoyary iugurated the championship in presence of BTC EM of Sports and Youth Welfare Doneswar Goyary on Sunday.
