Kokrajhar district BSS golden jubilee from Dec 29

KOKRAJHAR, Dec 23: The Kokrajhar district committee of Bodo Sahitya Sabha (BSS) is going to celebrate its golden jubilee from December 29 at Swrang High School playground, Mwiderkhoro in Kokrajhar town. The Silver Jubilee of Kokrajhar Primary BSS will also be held.

Speaking to mediapersons, the president of the reception committee, Jyotirmay Mohilary said the preparations were going on in full swing to make the golden jubilee celebration of the Kokrajhar district BSS a grand success.

He said over 70 pc of the preparations were over while other works are in progress. He said the fund for holding the celebration was very poor for which the reception committee has appealed the villagers to extend support. The villages in and around Kokrajhar town have assured to dote dal, potato, cabbage, brinjal, mustard oil, rice, meat etc., he said adding that the demonetization affected the fund collection. He appealed all the organizations not to resort to call bandh on December 28, 29 and 30 in Kokrajhar for the greater interest of the literary body and their works for literature.

The president of the Kokrajhar district Bodo Sahitya Sabha Dwajendra th Brahma said the programmes of the golden jubilee celebration have been chalked out. As per scheduled programme, there would be literary competitions for the students from class I to X like poem recitation, sport drawing, quiz and dance which would be iugurated by the literary secretary of the ABSU Bhadreswar Basumatary on December 29 in the morning followed by get together of ex-presidents and secretaries of the Kokrajhar district BSS and felicitation to them.

The get together to be chaired by the president of the Reception Committee Jyotirmay Mohilary would be iugurated by Pradip Kr. Brahma, ex-MLA of 29-Kokrajhar West after that the souvenir “Mwiderkhoro-Sothi Maithai Fwrbw” and other books would be released by BTC EM Rajib Brahma and it would be chaired by Dwajendra th Brahma, president of the Kokrajhar district BSS.

 Brahma said in the evening at 1 pm, a semir on the topic “Present and future prospect of Bodo medium education” would be iugurated by ex-vice president of Bodo Sahitya Sabha and would be chaired by the vice president of Kokrajhar district BSS. The Director of UN Academy-Krish Gopal Basuamatary and Parmeswar Brahma, Principal of Basic Training Centre and ex-president of Kokrajhar district BSS would be the resource persons while BTC EM Doneswar Goyary will iugurate the Lt. Prasenjit Brahma memorial students’ cultural competitions.

In the open session, the president of the BSS Dr. Kameswar Brahma will attend the event as the chief guest and it would be iugurated by the chief of BTC Hagrama Mohilary. The State Forest Minister, Pramila Rani Brahma, Deputy Chief of BTC Kampa Borgoyary and general secretary of the ABSU, Lawrence Islary will address before the gathering while former MP Charan rzary and ex-Rajya Sabha MP Urkhao Gwra Brahma would be the special guests. Besides, MLAs Rabiram rzary and other leaders of various organizations have been invited in the golden jubilee celebration.

Earlier, the president of the Kokrajhar district, BSS Dwajendra th Brahma will host the organizatiol flag in the morning while the vice president Baneswar Basuamatary will paid homage to the martyrs. The tomb of the golden jubilee would be iugurated by ex-BTC EM Derhasat Basumatary followed by plantation of saplings to be started by Mahan Chandra Brahma, Council Head of the Department, Tourism, BTC.

The most spectacular programme of the golden jubilee would be felicitation to Massom rzary, Runners-up of Sony Tv. Super Dancer as people are enthusiastic to see her at Kokrajhar. The BSS will felicitate her during open session and it would be followed by cultural exchange programme to be iugurated by Rajya Sabha MP Biswajit Daimary. There would be cultural extravaganza in memory of Ayung late Chakya Brahma which would be iugurated by ex-president of the BSS Brajendra Kr. Brahma.
