Kokrajhar to host 6th Baokhungri Festival

KOKRAJHAR, April 3: The Baokhungri Festival Organizing Committee has decided to hold the 5th Baokhungri Festival at Baokhungri Hillside in Kokrajhar district from April 12 under the sponsorship of BTC. A meeting of the committee was held on Tuesday at BTC Secretariat conference hall with EM of Sports and Youth Welfare, BTC, Doneswar Goyary in the chair. The meeting decided to organize hill trekking, traditiol game competitions on Khomlaii, Gila, Batha, Daobo Aithing, live cock fight, ethnic food festival and cultural extravaganza. People from various parts of the country will take part in the popular hill trekking competition.

Meanwhile, massive preparations are going on in full swing for smooth conduct of the festival. Sources said over 100 stalls have been erected this year for ethnic food festival while roads for hill trekking have been cleared. Apart from these, the paragliding is also a centre of attraction in the festival.
