Kristi, Anurag lift double crown

GUWAHATI, Feb 1: Kristi Boro and Anurag Buragohain clinched double crown in the 18th Anup Lahoty India Club Open Tennis Championship which concluded at the India club courts today. Anchit Gogoi (India Club) won the title in Boys U-12 Singles event.

The closing ceremony of the tourment was attended by India club’s president Aboni Barua,  Secretary General Anupam Chowdhury, All Assam Tennis Association’s  secretary Ankush Dutta and Zaiba Ahmed, wife of late Samsuddin Ahmed  on whose me trophy was awarded in the tourment. Kalpita Rajkhowa was adjudged most promising player in the girl’s section and was awarded with Ilamoni Lahkar memorial award.

Results: Boys:  U-12 Singles:  Anchit Gogoi bt Arunesh Baruah (6-4,6-0), Boys U-14 years Singles: Anurag Buragohain bt Avnish Barua (6-2,6-0). Boys U-18 years singles Anurag Buragohain bt Jugal Barua (6-0,6-4).  Girls U-12 years singles:  Kristi Boro bt Megh Bharadwaj (6-1,6-0). Girls U-14 years singles:  Kristi Boro bt Ishika Chakma (7-6,7-5), Girls U-18 years Rai Zaffar bt Ishika Chakma (6-2,6-4), Mens Doubles:  Priyanuj Dutta Lahkar and Anshuman Dutta bt Tutu Thapa and Sudhanta Mohanty(6-3,6-2), Senior Mens Doubles:  Rajeeb Bora and Dilip Mohanty bt Gaurav Chowdhury and Deepjyoti Baruah(6-3,6-3) Veterans Doubles above 45 years:  Anupam Chowdhury and barun Saikia bt Subhash Kalita and Col.Borkakoti (6-4,4-6,10-7). Veteran Doubles:  Above 55 years doubles( Late Samsuddin Ahmed Memorial Trophy) Kalyan Kumar Das and Dipak Kumar Das bt Shankar Dutta Lahkar and Amlandeep Das (4-6,6-4,10-6).
