From a Correspondent
Hamren, March 15: The Karbi Students’ Association (KSA) submitted a memorandum to the KAAC CEM Tuliram Ronghang on Wednesday at his official chamber, urging the KAAC authority to give importance to the border issue.
The KSA stated in the memorandum that the inter-district and inter-State border areas of Karbi Anglong like Lankaijan, Prampri, Lahorijan, Sankar Tila, Khanduli and others were occupied by some illegal migrants. Karbi Anglong is on the verge of becoming like Tripura as the population of illegal migrants is increasing in the district, stated the organization leaders Bejoy Bey, president of KSA, and Moniram Tokbi.
“The time has come to be protected from the illegal migrants. Therefore, in border areas various developmental schemes of the government should be implemented,” they said. They also urged the KAAC authority to prepare in its annual action plan for the development of the local indigenous people of the border areas.
