SHILLONG, JUNE 3: The Khasi Student Union (KSU) NEHU Unit along with the KSU Mawlai circle on Wednesday met with the Pro Vice Chancellor of the North Eastern Hill University (NEHU) B. Myrboh and demanded immediate removal of BSF post from the university campus.

Speaking to newsmen, general secretary of KSU Mawlai Circle Rapborlang Nongrum said that the union has been opposing the BSF camp right from the beginning. “The BSF camp has resulted in loss of land without any benefit to the people as a whole,” he said.

“We strongly object the presence of such coercive forces which is not appropriate within educatiol institutions,” Nongrum said, adding that camp will slowly turn into a permanent settlement.

Meanwhile, president of the KSU, NEHU Unit, S Kharchandi said that the meeting with the Pro VC was very fruitful and he has assured that this will be the last time that the university will allow such camps.
