Lack of cinema halls discouraging producers in BTC area

KOKRAJHAR, May 11: Mahurat of new Bodo film Fwrmaisohaywi Gwsw took place at Paglababa Temple, Bodofa Nwgwr, Kokrajhar on Thursday. Artiste and president of All Bodo Women’s Welfare Federation (ABWWF), Ramfalbil Anchalik committee, Rajashree Basumatary formally clicked the button of the camera in presence of producer and artistes.

“This is my first film with RB Productions and I got inspiration from the success of Hatorkhi Pagla which was finced by me last year,” said Riya (Birhang) Brahma, producer of the film, while talking to media persons.  She said making profit from the film was a big question as there was lack of infrastructure for cinema in BTC areas. The party which wants to show a film has to erect tent-like theatre in remote places and volatile situations are also pushing the Bodo film industry backward, she said, adding that there should be mini cinema halls across the BTC to uplift the cine industry. She also said that there were many talented artistes but they were not getting opportunity to take the film industry as a professiol option.

Brahma said the time had come to develop the infrastructures for boosting cinema and theatre industry in BTC which could provide ample opportunities for the youths. The producers and fincers will get encouragement to produce more films and artistes will be benefitted if required infrastructure comes up. She also said that unchecked piracy had also been a major challenge for the producers.

Director of the film, Ganesh Boro hailing from Baksa district, said it would be the fourth film to be directed by him. He said the story of the film was written by Rabindra Sargiary of Barpeta district and it was based on the quantum of romance. He hoped that the film would be a big success and would receive a huge response from the cine lovers.

Simang Sairy of Barpeta and Heli Basuamtary of Baksa are the main actors of the film while the producer Riya Brahma, Rajashree Basumatary, Akalabya Brahma, Thaklai rzary, Winkel Mashahary and Bijit rzary also star in the film.
