Laikhuta of Xahitya Xabha special session erected at Haflong

HAFLONG, Jan 17: The Laikhuta of 9th Special Axom Xahitya Xabha Annual Session was erected today in presence of a huge gathering at the N L Daolagupu Sports complex here.

The programme was attended by the Deputy Commissioner, Dima Hasao, Amarendra Barua along with vice president of AXX, Dr Parag Kumar Thakur, assistant  secretary Deben Kakoti, office secretary, Chandan Sharma, president , Karbi Anglong AXX Pari Rongpi and  representatives from every community living in Dima Hasao .

Talking to reporters, Ghashyam th, secretary, 9th Special Assam Sahitya Sabha Annual Session, Haflong said that they want support from the people to make the function a grand success.

He expressed hope that the people of Dima Hasao would surely extend their helping hand to make the event a success to be held at Haflong from February 2 to 4.

He also disclosed that the preparation for the event is going on in full swing. All the respective communities of Dima Hasao have assured all possible help to make this mega event a grand success.

It may be mentioned that for the first time this event is being hosted at Haflong by the Assam Xahitya Xabha aiming to promote the rich culture, tradition, language and literature of as many as 14 tribes and other non-tribes of Dima Hasao.
