Lakhimpur grabs third position in Higher Secondary final exam in Arts stream this year

LAKHIMPUR: Lakhimpur district grabbed the third position in the State in the Arts stream of the Higher Secondary final exam conducted by Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) this year. The district achieved this success with 87.15 overall pass-percentage as per result declared on Saturday. However, the district could not ensure any position in the first three ranks in Science and Commerce stream.

A total of 8,700 students sat for the HS final exam in Arts stream from the district this year. Out of them, 7,582 students came out successful. Among them, 982 students secured first division, 2,652 students bagged second division while 3,948 students passed the exam in third division.

A total of 1,901 students appeared in the HS final exam in the Science stream from the district, out of which 1,491 students were successful. As per the result, 563 students got first division, 748 students got second division and 180 students got third division.

Showing good performance in the Commerce stream, the students of the district recorded 91.92 pass percentage in HS final exam. A total of 441 students of the district out of 484 passed the exam in the commerce stream. Among them, 57 students got first division while 149 students secured second division and 235 students got third division in this stream.
