Lakhimpur journalist bags rural journalism award

LAKHIMPUR, April 18: The Assam Lutad, a multi-lingual daily newspaper, published from Guwahati, has decided to confer the Assam Lutad Rural Journalism Award-2018 (Gramyo Sanbadikota Bota) to Rajib Baruah, a journalist of Lakhimpur. The media organization announced this through a press release issued recently. Rajib Baruah has been sincerely working for an electronic news channel from Dhakuakhana and as special correspondent of an Assamese newspaper from the same station. Simultaneously, he is serving as the editor of an e-media news portal also. Baruah is also a promising writer. Daivik-Jaivik (collection of short stories), Rajasthanor Pora Pakistanor Seemantaloi (travelogue), Habungor Kobita (edited collection of poetry), and Dhakuakhonar Poryoton Kshetra are his published books. The award will be given away at a programme to be held at Dispur Press Club on April 23.
