Lakhipur administration to ensure trouble-free Puja

Silchar, Sept 8:  Members of all the Puja committees of Lakhipur sub division have been asked to submit their list of mes along with contact numbers to the nearest PS or outpost on or before September 10. Along with this, many other instructions have been given to them by J R Lalsim, ADC Cachar and in-charge SDO (Civil), Lakhipur, at a meeting held at Lakhipur Earl Higher Secondary School recently. They have been asked not to make Puja pandals on the roadside, not to play loudspeakers after 10 in the night during the Puja days and to take out Durga idols for Bisjorjon from 1 pm to 10 pm on Dashami.

 They have been instructed that not more than 10 passengers be allowed to ride on the country boat during Puja. J R Lalsim further said that Bisorjon Ghat at IWT, Phulertool should be well maintained. She instructed that nobody would be forced to give dotions for Puja and organizers of Puja should not ask for it from government officials. Halogen lights will be fitted during the Puja Days. A medical team will always be ready in case of any emergency during the four days of Durga Puja celebration. The meeting was attended by a number of departments and members of Puja committees.
