Laudable effort of 'Men in Olive Green' appreciated

MANGALDAI, April 17: The Army unit of Red Horns Division based at Chapai in Darrang in their successful initiative to provide the scope for the employment in the army for the energetic and ever ready youths of the district filly offered the employment opportunity to 20 youths of various parts of the district in the army. The troops of Red Horns Division recently organised a felicitation ceremony for these 20 young men.  The proud parents of the candidates also attended the felicitation ceremony.

It may be mentioned  that the troops of Chapai camp trained these young men for physical and written examitions for three months and also motivated and guided them throughout the process of selection.  The army’s effort to help the youth find an honourable employment and get integrated into the mainstream has been hailed by one and all as a welcome step. During the event the young men were seen bubbling with excitement while interacting with the Commanding Officer of the unit who congratulated them and encouraged them to do well in future.

On the other hand, earlier showing the path to glory for young students of Darrang district, troops of Red Horns Division stationed at Chapai here had underlined its commitment to society by coaching young local students in the area for Sainik School Entrance held at tiol level.  Four out of 11 students who had appeared for the examition had cleared it.  Earlier the Regiment had conducted a screening test for 60 students and selected 11 for further intensive coaching.  Parents of the students who appeared for the examition were overwhelmed by the initiative and commitment shown by the Army despite of their hectic schedule.  The result of examition became a morale booster for the future generation and a ray of hope for the parents.
