Laxman awarded honorary doctorate

New Delhi, February 4: Former cricketer VVS Laxman was awarded an honorary doctorate at the seventh convocation ceremony of TERI University here on Wednesday.

Three others also received the honour — former president of East Timor José Manuel Ramos–Horta, Unilever CEO Paul Polman, and Hitachi chairman Hiroaki kanishi.

Accepting the doctorate, Laxman said: “I am happy because I wanted to become a doctor but realised my dream to play for the country. This is the right time for the youth to realise their persol aspirations and bring glory to the tion.” IANS
