Lecture On English Literature Studies Today At Vivekananda Kendra Institute of Culture Complex

GUWAHATI: Birinchi Kumar Barua Memorial Trust is organizing the Birinchi Kumar Barua Memorial Lecture 2019 on the topic English Literature Studies in India, Past, Present and Future. The lecture will be delivered by Professor Dr Sanjukta Dasgupta, former Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Head of the Department, English, University of Calcutta and presently Convernor of the English Language Board, General Council, Sahitya Akademi. The programme will commence on Sunday June 9, 2019 at 4 pm in the Vivekananda Kendra Institute of Culture Complex, Uzanbazar Riverside, Guwahati.

In the same event, Justice (Retd) Dhiresh Narayan Choudhury will release Mitra Phukan’s English translation of Professor Barua’s Aghoni Bai titled Aghoni Bai and Other Stories. The meeting will be presided over by Professor Nagen Saikia, President of Birinchi Kumar Barua Memorial Trust.
